Restoration in Parkstone, Poole

Summary
This project involves the restoration and painting of seven sash windows and one door, focusing on exterior timber repairs and ensuring a durable, high-quality finish. The work includes addressing areas of decay, restoring timber profiles, and applying a protective paint system. Moderate timber repairs are included in the scope, with additional charges applicable for major replacements, such as new window sills, weather bars, or sash windows, if required. These elements would be discussed and agreed upon before proceeding.

Specification
The timber restoration process begins with preparation, including rubbing down surfaces and removing any loose or flaking paint. Infra-red burners are used to strip back the worst areas to assess the extent of damage. Rotten timbers are removed or dug out back to firm material, with new matching profiles manufactured in hardwood for replacement. Wood hardener is applied to stabilize timbers, followed by repairs using a combination of hardwood and specialist resins. Bare timbers are primed, minor imperfections filled with a two-pack filler, and caulking is applied where needed. Windows are taped for clean sight lines before applying one undercoat and two topcoats, with fine filling as required between coats to ensure a flawless finish.
